Hello and welcome to the "Who is Rick J Ratchford" site!

Motto: "Help others get what they want, and you will get what you want."

...

Graduated Mayfair High in 1977. Within a year, working for the second largest computer company of the time (Sperry Univac, 2nd to IBM) as a Computer Technician.

During the 1980's, went from working in computer technology to repairing radar systems for Hughes Ground Systems group. Later moved into large scale Energy Management and Automation Systems with various companies, traveling around the country to various Universities and Military Bases.

During the 1980's, work branched into Programming for various business systems. Having a fascination with the markets, particularly the Futures and Commodity markets, opened a trading account in 1989 and started trading in the Livestock complex.

And so the story begins...

It was 1991 when I first heard the word "Fibonacci". Curious as to its connection to the markets, I soon came to realize that market patterns were not random zig-zags. What I discovered for myself is that there is a natural order to market behavior, and from that point on made it my mission to uncover the secrets of market timing.

Over the following years, using my skills as a programmer, I tested various theories that I had based on lessons learned from many of the books and courses that were selling up to that time. It soon became obvious that most of the material was useless because they did not take into account the underlying reasons for market behavior.

However, bits and pieces of truth generated ideas that generated theories, theories that I could quickly test and either validate or reject. By 1996, I had created several useful trading tools that helped me make market predictions with above average accuracy.

It was during 1996 that I first came upon the Internet scene. There I found a trading forum (and eventually several) where I could share my market predictions with anyone who wished to read about them. Within a very short period of time, I caught the attention of many traders noticing my high accuracy rate, that eventually led to forming a trading group of my own.

Eventually I left my programming job and went to doing market forecasting full-time. Eventually, due to the number of readers of my work and those purchasing copies of my trading software tools, our current business of trading was born. We first started as FutureSoft Publishing, but later changed to ProfitMax Trading Inc. by the turn of the century.

The works of W. D. Gann, J. M. Hurst, George Bayer and many others who have shared their knowledge about market cycles became extremely useful in providing new direction in market forecasting for me. While my market forecasting work has been mainly mathematical up until around 2000, my deep research into the works of these 'cycle' masters helped me realize that the 'math' was actually tied to the 'cycles'.

By 2001, the original mathematical forecasting program FDates was given a new predictive algorithm based on Dynamic Cycle Extraction. How this is done is extremely unique and highly proprietary. Thus was born the main core of what is still called today the FDate Program.

Now 2008, 12 years have now passed from our humble beginnings and we are still forecasting future market tops and bottoms with a higher degree of accuracy then ever before. In addition, much as been learned and discovered that allows us to take even greater advantage of our market turn dates, thus allowing us to filter out those that we can likely trade for excellent profits and to either ignore or casually acknowledge turn dates of less significance.

Our membership is setup to provide all our members with a weekly report of future daily and weekly turn dates, just as it has been for 12 years now. In addition, we make available additional powerful technical tools that used along with FDates gives traders and INCREDIBLE EDGE!

You'd be amazed at what we have accomplished with FDates and these supporting tools.
